Work and Life Balance

To determine a how you can achieve a decent work life balance you must understand why it is you are doing what you do, if it is just to support your daily living, then why would you ever give more time than you are paid for or stress about it at times when you are not being paid?

If it is your passion and you enjoy every moment of what you do, then your life is your work and work is not a burden to you. Always have a cut off, if you stop working past your normal working hours and cut off the exact time we are paid until, then we are not losing out.

You are only there to get paid after all.

It is not always about the money

You need to find out what motivates you, if it is not money, then what is it?

Once you know what motivates you, you need to find out how to use that to your advantage. If you can, find a way to enjoy your work, if you cannot find a way to do that, then you at least need to find a way to enjoy your free time outside of work.

We let the stress of work keep us from enjoying our free time and we eventually let the stress of work consume our life. You need to find a way to set boundaries so that work does not consume your life. You also need to find a way to manage your time better. You cannot do one or the other, you need to do both.

I had to learn the hard way by suffering mental health and causing all sorts of problems in my working career. It was the hardest lesson I ever had to learn, and it took me years to learn it, but I am glad I learned it because it makes my life so much easier. It also makes life much better for my family because they are not worried about if I am struggling mentally and working too hard. They are free to enjoy themselves and find a way to be available for themselves.

Most people cannot find a work life balance, so they don’t find success in life, but if you can find a way to do that, you will find success in life. The biggest obstacle to finding a work life balance is that you let other people tell you how to manage your time. If you take the time to manage your time for yourself, then you can find a work life balance that works for you. If you let others tell you how to manage your time, then you will eventually lose control over your life and your work life will consume you.

Be Available for Yourself
